Panama, Mar 13 (Prensa Latina) Panama will host the 25th Caribbean Financial Action Group (GAFIC) in May, focused on the fight against money-laundering and the financing of terrorism, an official source reported on Tuesday.
Representatives of 30 countries of Central America and the Caribbean, and several international organizations will participate n the meeting.
GAFIC has as its main objective the "deciding on and securing implementation of measures to counteract the crimes of money-laundering and financing of terrorism in the countries of the region."
GAFIC members are: Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Costa Rica, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Granada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Montserrat, Nicaragua, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Lucia and Suriname.
